I probably shouldn't be so happy about this, but Walt, this completely pretentious jerk who's the senior staff photographer at the magazine, left for Cambodia yesterday to cover that meteroite, which means that the office is blessedly a lot less full of hot air for the rest of the week. I'm actually kind of surprised that he took this assignment, he usually passes on the ones that require travel, which is how I keep ending up with them.

I am so happy to be back in England and the craziness that is the Lane. Or at least I think I'm back in England, and not ancient Greece or something. But even walking around with Zeus and Mercury and Aphrodite is better than Chile.
I did, however, bring back souveniers and gifts, which will probably end up being Christmas gifts, actually. I can't believe it's only a month away. And it was on Christmas morning that he proposed, and then only a couple months later I turned into a complete idiot.

... well, today was interesting. And by interesting I mean that the police used tear gas and water cannons on protesters.
I would really like to go home now.
By the way, COMPLETELY belatedly, but Wayne, you were great as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Lavender, you were great, too.

Megan, thank you so much for putting me up this past week. When I get off work, I'll move my things back to my flat.

Shite
Anyone got an extra bed? Or a couch? Or anything where I can crash for a week until my flat is liveable again?

Also, just a hypothetical question. If you had to do something for work (nothing bad, just something you're not entirely sure if you want to do) and not doing it might result in your getting fired, would you do it anyway? It's nothing bad, really, just ... travel. With the potential of lots more travel in the future.

I still love Nate Cadwallader, I was a complete and total idiot for leaving him, and I regret it, and it's been driving me crazy not saying anything ever since I got back.
I don't know why I'm writing all this down in public, but it's not warding, and ... Merlin.

I really need to stop misplacing my journal.
So, we're going looking for dresses next weekend. Well, we being Jeniyah, the blushing bride-to-be; her sister Julissa (the maid of honor); Roni; and me. Elizabeth is at school, so the rest of us are just going to start looking at dresses and narrow down shops and the like, then take her with us in December. The wedding is going to be next summer, so we have plenty of time for all that. Mike's been hanging around a lot more since he and Jeniyah got engaged, so we've been having lunch together a lot and catching up. We never really spent much time together when we were growing up, since he's seven years older than I am, but now that we're older, we have more to talk about, which is nice.

This week is already getting better. On Wednesday, I was running late for work and digging around in my closet for my shoes, and suddenly there was a rose bush there, and I scratched my hand on the thorns. Of course, I had to run off to work, so I didn't have time to do anything about it, and Madison noticed, so I can't even do anything about it now without her asking questions about why my scratches are suddenly gone.
But then today it's snowing here on the Lane and in Diagon Alley, which is completely weird, since it's September and it's definitely sunny and not snowing in the muggle part of London, so it was kind of nice to come home from work and walk right into the middle of a snowball fight.

Is anyone else awake at sometime-after-midnight? We have a nice bright-and-early meeting tomorrow morning at work (I guess today, now), but I can't sleep. I blame the move. There was something faulty in the wiring in 241, so everyone had to move out. Further proof, I guess, that muggle electricity won't work properly here. It was fun finding the quirks in my flat there, though. Like the fact that the light switch in my bedroom turned on the shower. But, after a frantic search, I managed to find another, only slightly more expensive, flat in 220. Thanks to the fact that my darling little brother Nick happened to have a lunch date with me today (yesterday? whatever you want to call Sunday), I talked him into helping me pack everything up and move. Lizzie needed to buy her supplies for her last year at Hogwarts, so we talked her into apparating over (not that she really needed an excuse to apparate, she's been doing it as much as she can ever since she got her license) and helping out, in exchange for each of us buying her some of her school supplies.
So I'm all moved in, yet again, and mostly unpacked. But now I can't sleep, so who else is still awake?

My big brother is getting married. Michael, that is, not Arthur. Not Jon, either, but that's pretty much a given since I doubt they allow dating in Azkaban He had the whole family go home for dinner tonight, and he and his girlfriend Jeniyah showed up together, and they told us that he proposed to her this afternoon, and she said yes.
And speaking of weddings, congratulations Ron and Hermione!

Good luck, Nate. -- nevermind, he doesn't even want to be my friend, so I'll just leave him alone, like I said I would.

You never realise how nice some of the little things are until you've gone months without them. Things like not having to boil water before using it. I was really looking forward to dropping that habit when I got home. Of course, having to continue to boil water before using it is better than the alternative. Still, I hope the problem's fixed soon.

Hello, Euphoria Lane! Did you miss me? I am finally back from Africa, and I'm actually back a couple of weeks early. We weren't due back until the 20th, but we finished up early and got back on Friday. I was staying with my parents and sister over the weekend, while I found a new flat, and I just moved in this morning, so I am officially back on the Lane now, in 241. I think this building is new, though, since I don't remember it being here when I left.
I'm so happy to be back in England, though, and even happier to be back in the wizarding world. Living as a muggle for nearly five months is a lot harder than it seems. I feel like I don't know anything that's happened in our world since I left ... mostly because I don't. It would be hard to explain why I would be getting a newspaper delivered by owl every day, and I couldn't exactly go down to the store and buy a copy of the Prophet.
So, how is everyone? What kinds of crazy happenings have I missed here on the Lane and in the wizarding world in general?

Awww, I have a new friend! A tiny little t-rex climbed onto my shoe when I was on my way back to the flat after running this morning. And it's so adorable. It keeps roaring (but the roar is so tiny and cute) and nibbling on my fingertips. I want to keep him, he's so cute. Can I keep him?
